At Micaela Sharp Design (formerly Sharp & Simpson) we value quality materials, expert service and a friendly approach. Our goal is to make the process as simple as possible for you because we understand that great interior design and upholstery can make a house a home!

Growing up Micaela’s family taught her carpentry and sewing skills and so upholstery was the perfect blend of the two.

At her upholstery course she fell in love with the craft and decided to start her own business centring on modern design and a quality finish.

Micaela Sharp Design, was born which now includes an interior design offering. We love to create spaces that have a modern feel with traditional elements and quality craftsmanship.

The team has grown and Micaela oversees a larger number of talented upholsterers, curtain makers and trades.

We work with individuals to update family homes and furniture as well as with commercials enterprises for office and leisure spaces. Get in touch!

Famous Upholsterer

In 2022 Micaela joined the iconic TV show Changing Rooms on Channel 4. Working alongside Laurence Llewelyn Bowen she transformed rooms up and down the country with vibrant schemes full of her trademark pattern layering.

If you’re into woodwork you may have seen Micaela on Woodland Workshop on the Discovery Channel (formerly Kings of the Woods). Micaela adds upholstery to bespoke pieces hand crafted in the woods for very deserving people.

Micaela was thrilled to be part of Interior Designs Masters with Alan Carr season two on BBC Two. She came joint third in he competition after completing projects in a hotel, office, restaurant and more.

Micaela Sharp is a regular guest on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh. Micaela shows how you can repurpose a coffee table into a bench using fabric by Isabel Kimbell. And how to save a well loved chesterfield sofa with some clever reupholstery. Recent episodes have included cushion making and reupholstering a rocking chair.

Our founder Micaela also featured on BBC One's Flipping Profit where she competed against well known auctioneers and market traders to make the most profit.  Over 4 episodes Micaela purchased chairs and sofas from Hye-on-Wye, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Lewes and Faversham.  Watch on iPlayer to see how she got on against Phil Serrel, Catherine Southon and others.  Follow us on social media for behind the scenes shots.
